In 1988, having just received his professional licence, Toronto architect Bill Dewson set off by mountain bike on a year long journey through India and Japan, along the way, to focus on his trip, he made scored of sketches of the buildings he encountered. On the back of each he wrote a sort of journal entry, about the building or the people he met there, or the ideas provoked by one or the other. Here is a small glimpse of his portfolio of drawings, and spontaneous on the spot notes, which together offer provocative glimpses into an ancient culture.
