The most sustainable building is the one you don’t build, with the next best being the one you renovate. By retrofitting this century home, we sustained the centuries of invaluable culture, history and memories embodied within. The original architect Samuel Hamilton Townsend would be proud to see his 1911 design intact, right down to his original watercolour renderings hanging in the current study.
